Looking Into The New Year, Part 2

by Teri R. Williams

Introduction:

Things we’ve relied on for strength have made us weak:

We’ve experienced loss of those who had established a place of authority – We’ve had “Reformers” etc. But time to break records – not just regain place.

I heard someone say on this week on NPR that we’ve never regained our hold on figure skating that we lost in 1961 when we lost the entire US figure skating team on the way to Prague, Czechoslovakia in a plane crash. Yes – we lost entire revelations (prophecy, teaching, healing, etc.); but it’s a time to start trying to revive and start breaking beyond known points of past revelation.

--Talk about what being a gatekeeper in the house of the Lord actually means:

David said in Pslams 84:10 “I’d rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.” Different than what I thought. -David saw it as one or the other – You see from this position or you see from that position.

Isaiah 22:22 I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

What is on His shoulders? Government of God/Kingdom of God is inside of us  through the –Holy Spirit in us. But what needs opening and what needs to be shut by the key of David?

-Key of David

Begin with ---

I. EZEKIAL

      A. God asks Ezekial if He’s seen the water they’re swimming in.

      1. Ez. Chap. 46 measuring the temple top to bottom

Ezekial 47:1 The man brought me back to the entrance of the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar. 2 He then brought me out through the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate facing east, and the water was flowing from the south side.3 As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep. 4 He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist. 5 He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross. 6 He asked me, "Son of man, do you see this?"

    B. Ezekial ankle deep in water. He’s wet.

        1. Ankles. Knees. Waist. Too deep had to swim.

      C. Have you seen this?

    D. When God asks us a questions, it’s because he wants us to know the answer – and we’re missing the fact that we don’t know we need to be asking Him a question.

            1. Adam and Eve – Where are you?

        2. Have we seen what we already have and what we’re already standing in?

II. Exits

Ezekial 48:30 "These will be the exits of the city: Beginning on the north side, which is 4,500 cubits long, 31 the gates of the city will be named after the tribes of Israel. The three gates on the north side will be the gate of Reuben, the gate of Judah and the gate of Levi. 32 "On the east side, which is 4,500 cubits long, will be three gates: the gate of Joseph, the gate of Benjamin and the gate of Dan. 33 "On the south side, which measures 4,500 cubits, will be three gates: the gate of Simeon, the gate of Issachar and the gate of Zebulun. 34 "On the west side, which is 4,500 cubits long, will be three gates: the gate of Gad, the gate of Asher and the gate of Naphtali. 35 "The distance all around will be 18,000 cubits. "And the name of the city from that time on will be: The LORD is There ."

Its not only about being in a river but having a river inside us.

      A. Ez. 48:30 these are the exits of the city.

    B. North, South, East, West – each named after one of 12 tribes of Israel – name of city – THE LORD IS THERE.

      C. Gates. Why Exits instead of entrances.

1 Not different names of God – They’re named after people. – Gates of city of God are people.

      D. YOU ARE A GATE – a gate to a city whose name is the Lord is there.

    E. We’re hoping God comes – begging Him to come. But He named the gates Exits. He came to the city. We’re how He gets out.

    F. Gates let things in and out. WE are the ones who let things out what He’s put in.

    G. We ARE the Portals. We have concept that some portal opens and revival comes and then it closes for no reason and its over.

III. JACOB

Gen. 28:10 Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Haran. 11 When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. 12 He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. 13 There above it stood the LORD, and he said: "I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. 14 Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. 15 I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."16 When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, "Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it." 17 He was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven."18 Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it. 19 He called that place Bethel, though the city used to be called Luz. 20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear 21 so that I return safely to my father's house, then the LORD will be my God 22 and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God's house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth."

                              PORTAL

      A. Jacob - Greatest portal is YOUR HEART. Open when we believe –

      1. Believing happens in the heart – not our minds. He’s an experience. That’s what makes our heart of stone, a heart of flesh.

Ezekial 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

      2. Why didn’t he say, I will give them a new mind? the mind is not where we believe and experience God.

(Greek #2588) Heart: the seat of the sensibilities, affections, emotions, desires, appetites, passions.

Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

      3. (Greek #2588) Heart: the seat of the sensibilities, affections, emotions, desires, appetites, passions.

    B. THIS IS how God gets out – We need to stop looking for an outward sign, a revival or move – HE’S HERE!

      1. We have something we don’t know we have. We’re praying, begging, bleading… but God has already been given it.

    C. He still had to say to him EZEKIAL, DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU’RE IN???

          1. Why exits and not entrances?

      2. God wants out. Baptism of HIS: it’s a getting out. Emphasis on Him coming thru us.

      3. He’s looking for gates. Portals who can see that they are in the city called “the Lord is there.”

      4. You’ve got to see it to see it. Have to perceive him to see his presence –so no longer ankle deep but rivers to swim in

          5. Have you seen this? You can be in it and not know it.

III. CAN WE BE IN HEAVENLY PLACES AND NOT KNOW IT?

Ephes. 1:18-19 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

      A. (1) Can you be seated…and not know it?

      1. If only know it theologically, you still don’t know it. But if you have power operating in life in some way, we’re beginning to know it.

Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

           (2) Not know WHY we’re there!!!

    B. …through whom we HAVE ACCESS – not WILL HAVE. WE already HAVE. - in which we now stand. – a place called Grace.

          1. Why do we need access if standing in it???

      2. Because you’ve got to have a revelation of what you’re standing in. when see it, access it by faith.

    C. NEED TO SEE: When we think about how unfair it is, we are blind to the support and protection.

Romans 5:3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

    D. “It’s not fair” – we have people all around us who are not going to let anything happen to us without going through it with us. The Lord has people around you – praying all over the world at times; people right next to you

      1. This is the vaccine – The way we become immune to being overcome – BY OVERCOMING IT!!!

      2. GOD is not mad at us or giving us more to face than someone else. We all have different places of influence and authority that we’re called to. SEE THEM AS VALUABLE

Ephes. 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes…18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

    E. Get back up and get your armor back on and fight. This battle is about the purposes of God

    F. Access operates in direct relation to belief.

      1. YOU ARE STANDING in a River too broad to cross. (Some places should be renamed “lake of God” – cause it’s a place where people come for ministry and one male is looked to for all the work of the ministry.)

    G. Jacob - Wakes up and says – God is in this place and I didn’t know it. JACOB became the house of God and still didn’t know it. Future generations – the gates of heaven people – house of God corporate gates held together in a corporate man Jesus who would fill the earth with his power.

IV. Gideon

Judges 6:11 The angel of the LORD came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. 12 When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, "The LORD is with you, mighty warrior."13 "But sir," Gideon replied, "if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our fathers told us about when they said, 'Did not the LORD bring us up out of Egypt?' But now the LORD has abandoned us and put us into the hand of Midian."14 The LORD turned to him and said, "Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian's hand. Am I not sending you?"15 "But Lord , " Gideon asked, "how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family."16 The LORD answered, "I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites together."

    A. – convinced he’s a loser. In the winepress threshing wheat hiding what he has from the enemy. Angel sitting there watching him. Not sweating. Just watching. Calls him a deliverer. He says, how can that be. Finally, he just says – go in your might and do it.

      B. The dark realm sees what we have – We should never be intimidated.

      1. God wants us to be opened up – to be that gate – to see what we have. The gates open OUT – that don’t pull in –

      2. We’re called to ALL NATIONS. (answer to natural war is the Lord being preached to all nations;

      3. preach – to herald; to make something known ahead of it’s coming – sounds like prophesying. We are the messenger with our lifes – How we live; what we do—not just what we say--- how we love

    C. We’ve got to stop depending on Presidents and Preachers to make us a Godly nation. They’re not supposed to be the source of the River for us…We want righteous natural governement because we want Peace. But no outward peace will ever accomplish what only the work of the Holy Spirit is to do through us as individuals in the earth.

V. EPHESIANS

Ephes. 1:18-19 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

    A. What do we see? Paul – to Ephesians, a powerful church; Eyes blinded – Ephesian church were powerful – and he’s asking God to open their eyes

          1. Stop keeping God in –

Joel 3:18 "In that day the mountains will drip new wine, and the hills will flow with milk; all the ravines of Judah will run with water. A fountain will flow out of the LORD's house and will water the valley of acacias. (ark of the covenant made out of this kind of tree – very thorny)

    B. In the Scriptures, the Promised Land was supposed to be a "land flowing with milk and honey." -scientific terminology. Agricultural terms -a "milk flow" and "honey flow." -the peak season of spring and summer when pastures are at their most productive stages. The livestock that feed on the forage and the bees that visit the blossoms are said to be producing a corresponding "flow" of milk or honey. So a land flowing with milk and honey is a land of rich, green pastures)

    C. it’s a River that leaves the temple and flows into the streets.

      1.  Many waiting on God to come and pour out when he’s waiting on US TO GO AND POUR OUT.  Out of their bellies.

John 7:38 He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.

    D. Is this river as important to us as it is to the Lord. When it flows, it disrupts – demons come out and people get healed.

VI. Jeremiah

    1. Jeremiah – 2 great evils

Jeremiah 2:13 "My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

      1. Cistern – tank for holding water; the tank we store water for flushing our toilets.

      B. THERE’S A RIVER IN US.

VII. The River of Life is an Outreach of the Presence of God

Revelations 22:1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. 6The angel said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place." 7"Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book.

    A. When Jesus was on cross making a way to tear open the Holy of Holies, a soldier pierced his side and blood and water came out of the temple, Jesus. Beginning of what Ez. Saw – If Pentecost was just the beginning, the ankle deep water coming out of the temple, what will the flood be like?

B Reformers – trying to bring us back to ankle deep – Acts 2. (Martin Luther –John Hus, Wycliffe, Calvin)

          1. There’s so much more.

      2. Restoration of prophet and teaching, etc. – that’s restoration of ankle deep.

      3. Let’s get beyond the restoration and move into the release in the present.

VIII. WE ARE EXITS

    A. the connection with Jesus is an access. we can go as fast as Jesus wants to go. We can move at His rate.

    B. It’s great to study what was but WHAT ABOUT WHAT IS TO COME???

      1. WE WANT MORE THAN TO REGAIN WHATS BEEN LOST SINCE PENTECOST. WE WANT MORE THAN A REVIVAL OR A REFORMATION!

      2. WE WANT THE NEW LIFE OF THE RIVER OF GOD COMING OUT OF US –A new Jerusalem.

Rev. 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

   3. Let Him who hears – who is thirsty – take the water of life freely
